Kalmarine joined the project in 2021 after the vessel was relocated to Santander, Spain to provide support to Naviera, the entity over The Yacht Portfolio’s first yacht, Evrima, during the completion of construction.
When Naviera was faced with the task of completing Evrima as General Contractor, the complexity of the project increased dramatically. This endeavor involved setting up most services and department leadership of a shipyard on a temporary basis. The Naviera team needed to secure a partner that could not only grasp the multitude of disciplines and partners required to see Evrima through completion and into service, but also successfully embed themselves within its own team and organization.
“We found that Kalmarine could provide the team and leadership to support the Naviera team through the final stages of Evrima’s build,” said Douglas Prothero, Chief Executive Officer of Naviera. “Under the drive and leadership of Mr. Frongillo, the Kalmarine team provided critical discipline leads, network and expertise that was essential to Naviera’s ability to reach the finish line.”
