Assessment included detail vessel surveys, equipment review with makers, required repair works, outfitting scope, and detailed budget assessment for upgrading the vessel to extend the life cycle of the vessel. Including review of shipyard options, out of service time and return service requirements.

Scope of Work

Kalmarine provided a project team on-site during dry-dock to assist with the tasks related to installation, repair and/or upgrade of vessel for class required dry-dock and repairs, owner’s elective upgrades, and life-cycle replacement: including Electrical and Automation systems, Overhaul of Main and Auxiliary Engines, and Shaft-lines.

Oversight included vendor management during project execution:

  • Support during statutory inspection and survey
  • Reporting and tracking project progress during dry-dock
  • Assistance with post dry-dock works and punch-list management

Prior to the dry-docking Kalmarine worked with client to develop the vessel dry-dock specification and life-cycle upgrade scope of work including a technical feasibility study covering class, safety and engineering requirements. In addition preliminary layout options, scopes of work, budgets and out of service timelines were developed for client.

Scope of Work

Kalmarine provided a full project team for the development, planning, and execution of the vessel modernization which took place in service and during a 40-day out of service period, including
a 28-day dry-dock.

The project team consisted of project manager, planning, technical management, and outfitting management with responsibilities including:

  • Overall Project responsible
  • Technical work specifications and scope of work review, technical design validation, coordination and technical design integration, management of technical supervisors
  • Supervision and coordination of overall interior outfitting works and zone management including work specifications and scope of work review
  • Responsible for planning and reporting
  • Responsible for technical systems (hvac, mechanical, electrical, class, USPH) design coordination, technical work specifications, and quote review, and supervision during planning, contracting, and execution
