Architectural and Technical Design For Two New Expedition Cruise Vessels

Kalmarine provided Engineering and Architectural design services to an undisclosed owner in support of the development of two new concept vessels for the expedition cruise market.

The vessels were designed with Tropical Expedition and Seasonal Arctic/Antarctic Expedition itineraries in mind.

Designs included

• 1x 250 passenger, Polar Class 5 Expedition Vessel
• 1x 50 passenger,  Galapagos Expedition vessel, yacht standard

The following deliverables/services were included in the Scope of Work for both vessels:

• Concept Development, Concept General Arrangement
• Weight Calculation
• Preliminary Intact Stability
• Preliminary Damage Stability
• Preliminary Mid-Ship Section Drawing
• Venue Matrix
• Preliminary Speed and Power Predication
• Preliminary Capacity Plan
• Shipyard construction plan, timeline, and budgeting for the construction of both vessels.
