Kalmarine provided Design and Design Management Services for the development of the third vessel of the Icon of the Seas series.

Kalmarine provided the interface between the Brand, Newbuilding, and Shipyard to develop new concepts for the third vessel in the series. Working closely with the Brand, third party design teams and the vendors to ensure that product creativity was maintained during construction development.
Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship platform in the world, featuring 8 Neighborhoods filled with unique guest experiences unlike any other platform to date. Icon of the Seas holds the largest waterpark at sea, showcasing six waterslides over 1580m2. At 365 meters and 250,800 gross tons it is unlike any other, with a capacity of 5,610 guests (double occupancy). Icon of the Seas is also Royal Caribbean’s responses to climate change with an LNG power plant and many other energy saving industry firsts.
